A galaxy of possibilities
Brand new TCG launched in 2024 by Fantasy Flight Games. Features streamlined rules and the entire Star Wars universe across all eras. Simple resource system makes it accessible while maintaining strategic depth.
Star Wars: Unlimited is Fantasy Flight Games' second attempt at a Star Wars TCG (after the 2002-2005 game). Released in March 2024, it features modern design philosophy with streamlined rules and stunning art.
The game spans all Star Wars eras - build decks with Darth Vader, Rey, Ahsoka, and classic characters all battling together. Choose your Leader (base) and bring your favorite heroes and villains to the table!
Objective: Defeat your opponent's base by reducing it from 30 HP to 0.
Deck Requirements: 50 cards exactly, plus 1 Leader card and 1 Base card. Maximum 3 copies of any card (except for cards that specify otherwise).
Setup: Place Base (30 HP) and Leader (separate HP based on card) in play. Draw 6 cards. Each player may mulligan once (shuffle and draw 6 again). Starting player does not draw on first turn.
Resource System: ANY card can be played as a resource! Put cards from hand face-down in resource zone. Each resource gives 1 generic resource.
Each turn has these phases:
During Action Phase, you and opponent alternate. After you take an action, opponent can take an action, then back to you. This continues until both players pass in a row.
Attacks: When attacking, declare target (base or unit). Defender can declare defender with a unit. Both deal damage simultaneously. If attacking base directly and no blocker, deal damage to base!
Leaders: Define your strategy. Have HP separate from base. When defeated, flip to "deployed" side with powerful ability. Can't be defeated while deployed!
Bases: Your 30 HP life total. Some have special abilities.
Units: Your main forces. Ground or Space arena. Have cost, power, and HP. Attack enemy base or units.
Events: One-time effects. Play during your action.
Upgrades: Attach to units to boost them.
The 6 Aspects: Aggression (red), Cunning (yellow), Vigilance (blue), Command (green), Heroism (gold), Villainy (dark). Deck must match Leader's aspects. Each aspect has unique playstyle!
Reduce opponent's base to 0 HP:
Initiative Token: Starting player has it. When both players pass actions, whoever has initiative starts next phase. Some cards can steal initiative!
Strategy Tip: Resource management is key - putting strong cards as resources hurts, but sometimes necessary. Balance card quality with resource ramp!
